Dental Implants
The decision to replace a missing tooth with a dental implant can be an excellent investment in the health and appearance of your smile.
Implant dentistry has changed the way that people can improve their smiles. A dental implant can restore the appearance and function of your smile. Implants are extremely stable, look and feel completely natural, and replace the entire tooth, including the root.
During your initial visit, Dr. Alexander will give you a thorough examination, which will include digital X-rays, and talk with you about your medical and dental history and the goals you have for your smile. If you are considered a good candidate for a successful implant and are interested in proceeding with treatment, Dr. Alexander will refer you to a specialist, who will begin the surgical portion of the implant placement process. Your questions and concerns are important to us, and our team will work with you very closely to help make your procedure a success.
Once the specialist has determined that the surgical site has healed, you will be scheduled to return to our office. Dr. Alexander will then create a crown or restoration that will replace the visible part of your tooth. This will restore the natural appearance and function of your smile.
The success or failure of your implant is up to you. Remember that while the crown is not susceptible to decay, you need to continue to brush and floss your teeth to prevent gum disease that can compromise your implant.
